Newswatch TV-Microsoft agrees to buy Activision for $68.7 billion

On Tuesday, Microsoft announced that it would buy videogame publisher Activision Blizzard for $68.7 billion, or $95 per share, including Activision Blizzard's net cash. According to Newswatch TV, as a result of the deal, Redmond-based Microsoft will become the world's third-largest gaming company by revenue, behind Tencent and Sony.

Microsoft said the transaction is subject to regulatory approval and Activision Blizzard shareholders' approval, as well as customary closing conditions. Closing is expected in 2023. Microsoft Gaming and Activision Blizzard will operate independently until this transaction closes.

With its offer of $95 per share, Microsoft is offering a premium of 45 percent over Activision's Friday close. Activision's shares were up closely 38% at $65.39 before being halted for news. Game Pass, which has surpassed a new milestone of 25 million subscribers, will benefit from the acquisition. The Game Pass will include games from Activision Blizzard.

Video game sales have surged during the pandemic as consumers stay at home and play games to keep themselves occupied. In addition to games such as Call of Duty and Overwatch, Microsoft's Xbox gaming platform has an advantage over Sony's PlayStation, which has enjoyed a more steady flow of exclusive games for years.

Take-Two Interactive Software announced last week that it would acquire FarmVille creator Zynga for $11 billion in cash and stock, marking one of the biggest industry acquisitions in history.

In a blog post, Microsoft announced that Bobby Kotick will remain CEO of Activision Blizzard, and he and his team "will continue to boost business growth and strengthen the culture of the company.

The CEO also said that by combining Activision Blizzard's world-class franchises with Microsoft's distribution capabilities, distribution network, talent pool, and commitment to gaming and inclusion, we will continue to succeed.

The Number of attendees at CES 2022 has dropped 75%- Newswatch TV

CES is returning to an in-person event for the first time since 2020 following a virtual show last year. According to NewsWatch TV AMC, around 45,000 attendees descended upon the world's largest gadget show in Las Vegas to see more than 2,300 companies exhibit their products.

Even though that figure seems impressive at first glance, you have to remember that close to 180,000 people attended in 2020. It's about a 75% drop-off if you do the math. There is a steep drop off the cliff, not a little one.

The CES did offer a digital attendance option, but the numbers haven't been released. On social media, attendees noted that the show wasn't empty, but it was much less packed than in the past. Even fewer venues were used and the show ended a day earlier, most likely due to fewer attendees and exhibitors.

However, this didn't stop the CES from seeing the bright side and celebrating its success. 8 months ago, they decided to proceed with an in-person show, so perhaps they factored this possibility into production costs.

A few days back at CES 2022, we saw technologies that will reshape industries and provide solutions to pressing global issues from healthcare to agriculture to sustainability and beyond," said Gary Shapiro, president, and CEO of the Consumer Technology Association (CTA). As the CES show floor buzzed with human interaction and a five-sense innovation experience, several products will redefine our future and change the course of history.”

In-person, the majority of participants were smaller companies as big names like Samsung, T-Mobile, IBM, Mercedes-Benz, and more pulled out over the last few weeks to ensure the safety of their employees and consumers.

All of this is the result of the COVID-19 pandemic, especially the spike in cases in the U.S. due to the Omicron variant. In addition to requiring proof of vaccination and wearing masks indoors at all times, you can't help but wonder if it would have been better to cancel the in-person portion of the show altogether. As reported by Newswatch TV, the E3 just did that, five months before their show and after announcing they would be returning in person.

Newswatch TV - Why Are Independent Audits So Important for Gaming Sites?

The internet gaming sector is worth billions and is set to earn considerably more in the following years. How can players be convinced they can consider the quality of the items and services a given operator presents? But why are third-party audits necessary? What are the benefits of gambling on a site that is routinely audited? This guide from Newswatch TV describes. When it comes to independent evaluations, it means that gambling companies are entrusting the process to third parties. It's the only way to ensure that everyone is treated equally. Testing auditors, in addition to regulators and operators, work with software. Price Waterhouse Coopers was the go-to for audits when online casinos were new to the market.

The Newest And Greatest From CES 2022 By Newswatch TV

Las Vegas' CES 2022 is well underway, which means a lot of tech news. According to NewsWatch TV AMC, despite several big names deciding not to present in person due to COVID, this year's biggest announcements are still flooding in.

Since Monday alone, Sony has surprised us with several announcements. The company introduced QD-OLED consumer TVs with cutting-edge display technology. As the name of the technology implies, it combines OLED and Quantum Dot technology. Additionally, Sony confirmed the name of its upcoming VR headset, appropriately titled "PlayStation VR2." The company is working on some improvements to make it a more immersive experience, including the introduction of PlayStation VR2 Sense controllers.

They announced another version of the Galaxy S21 on Monday, called the S21 FE. It's a more affordable version of the popular smartphone with all its features. In 2022, they released the S20 FE to give clients more choices to select from at several different price points. S21 FE has a lower resolution camera and less memory than S21.

The company explores a wide range of technologies, and one they seem particularly excited about is foldable technology. With the Flex Note, a foldable 17-inch laptop that can shrink down to 13 inches when you need more space, you can do just that. Samsung also introduced the Freestyle, a portable projector with a swivel display that can project 30- to 100-inch videos or images.

Sony's Vision-S electric SUV isn't the only EV making waves at CES. The Chevy Silverado EV is the company's latest electric offering. You know what you're getting here if you're familiar with the popular Silverado pickup truck - it's an electric version. An impressive 400 miles can be covered with just one charge. EQXX, Mercedes-Benz's electric vehicle, introduced us to the idea of EVs. According to NewsWatch tv reviews, while it's easy to let these new EVs from all of the automakers and tech companies blend, Mercedes-Benz says its EQXX will go 620 miles on one full charge. As long as their price stays reasonable, they are going to be a serious competitor for Tesla.

Hope is the furthest thing from people's minds when it comes to making things better! Everything improves with time, and technology, according to NewsWatch tv reviews, is approaching the limit of the sky. Scientists have produced a new, futuristic bionic arm that can provide the sensation of touch and movement. Researchers at the Cleveland Clinic have created a new, futuristic bionic arm that can provide the sensation of touch and movement. It allowed disabled people who use a prosthetic arm to feel as if their fingers and hands were moving because the arm was made in a way that made it feel more like an integrated part of the person's body. Do you know that the bionic arm's movements are controlled by brain signals? The prosthetic device also sends information back to the brain via nerves, allowing the wearer to feel touch and movement.

NewsWatch tv reviews - Meta, Twitter, and Amazon drop plans to show at CES

Despite being the largest and most attended electronics show in the world, the Consumer Electronics Show is not immune to the negative effects of a pandemic as reported by NewsWatch tv reviews. However, the recent news of tech giants like Amazon, Intel, Meta, and T-Mobile pulling out hasn't deterred the event.

This year's Consumer Technology Association CES will be held in Las Vegas on January 5-8 with a strong focus on safety. Since last Friday, they have added 60 new exhibitors for our in-person event despite receiving 42 cancellations recently.

As one of the biggest participants this year, T-Mobile was slated to participate until featured speaker and CEO Mike Sievert stepped down and said they would limit in-person participation.

The same holds for Twitter and a host of other big names. T-Mobile will, however, remain a sponsor. Lenovo said that after closely analyzing the present trends surrounding COVID, it is in the best attractions of our workers, customers, partners, and our communities to suspend all events in Las Vegas. In another tweet, they added that while this is a change in plans, they are excited to see our latest technology launch as scheduled on January 4th and January 5th.

Many companies are suspending in-person activity in favor of simply launching technology or making big announcements online. In a time when COVID-19 cases are once again on the rise and the omicron variant is spreading across the country, this is the safe bet. There aren't only big names at CES, but it's a big draw for attendees, and it's where big names make announcements. There is no doubt that their sails have been stifled.

There is a digital-only registration option for those who would like to attend the show online instead of traveling to Las Vegas. According to NewsWatch reviews, as of now, it would make more sense to move over to a fully virtual event that embraces all the big and little names on one platform, in a democratized environment, as it was last year.

Newswatch TV-With an IPO filing, Reddit plans to go public

In an S-1 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission, Reddit announced its plans to go public as reported by Newswatch TV. Reddit itself has even stoked those fires since the rumors have been circulating for some time.

Newswatch TV-With an IPO filing, Reddit plans to go public

In a press release confirming the filing, the company stated that the number of shares to be offered and the price range for the proposed offering are yet to be determined. In the case of an IPO, the SEC will complete its review process after the market and other conditions have been met."

For now, that's all we know since the company is in a quiet period, which prevents them from sharing more information or providing details. Accordingly, nothing beyond the above statement is based on confidential filing, which is not available to the public.

Over the summer, Reddit raised $700 million in funding based on a recent valuation of $10 billion. In the second quarter of this year, they revealed they had 52 million daily users and made $100 million in ad revenue. This represents a 200% increase over the previous year.

If you've been following the news, you can probably guess what helped boost those numbers. People on the WallStreetBets subreddit instigated and executed the Game Stop short squeeze earlier this year.

In the financial markets, Reddit became the focal point for the meme stock craze that threatened to overturn the very method of conducting business. Institutions that had long held the power lost it after waves of Redditors manipulated stock prices with their everyday Joes and Janes.

In the same subreddit, we now hear rumblings of Reddit stock being pumped when it finally goes public. To see if they can achieve the same feat we saw with Game Stop remains to be seen. No one plans to get caught with their pants around their ankles again because that was basically a sneak attack. Let's not get fooled again.
