Netflix just began testing the latest feature in their iOS app aimed at kids. As reported by Newswatch TV, using a page out of the TikTok and Instagram Reels playbook, the unique feature is basically a feed of quick video content that shows what they would see in Netflix’s vast children-friendly library. As it’s called, Kids Clips has a twist that viewer-hungry networks like TikTok wouldn’t dare try. They restrict how many clips users are capable to watch at any given time. Users will only be capable to watch between 10 and 20 clips at a time.

This appears to be the right decision considering young kids with the latest feature. By limiting the video clips kids can only watch the limited videos in a particular time period so that they don’t get too addicted. This new feature is really an entertainment platform where they can save a lot of time by watching short videos instead of big movies and series. This is really a development of the Fast Laughs feature Netflix began using a few months back. The short-clip feature concentrates on comedy clips, essentially from Netflix’s cache of stand-up specials and comedy plays like Big Mouth. Director of product innovation Patrick Flemming said that they are looking for more ways to entertain and make discovery simpler for members. The only true difference between the new children-focused feature and Fast Laughs, aside from the genre of content, is that Kids Clips is intended to be seen horizontally.
