Last year, when the iPhone 12 was released, it came with a MagSafe charger and a plethora of accessories that took advantage of the phone's Qi-capable circle on the back.Any kind of wireless battery pack to charge on the move was missing at launch. Third-party firms were free to enter the market and develop their own wireless charging packs for the new iPhone as a result. Even if Apple had released an official battery pack, we'd expect to see other vendors jump in as well.
All of that is irrelevant now that Apple has introduced the official MagSafe Battery Pack for the iPhone 12 small, Pro, Pro Max, and, of course, the ordinary 12. You won't be able to utilize the pack if you have an iPhone from a previous generation.Unfortunately, because the MagSafe/Qi charging guts weren't released until the 12th of last year, there's no way to truly jerry-rig it. If you have an iPhone 12, make sure you're running iOS 14.7 or later. Of course, we're on 14.6, but 14.7 should be available by the time the first Battery Packs are delivered to consumers.
The MagSafe Battery Pack, which costs $99, attaches magnetically to the back of your iPhone 12 and charges it wirelessly.
